What is the etiquette of making Dua (supplication)?
Recommended etiquette for Dua includes beginning by praising Allah and sending blessings on the Prophet ﷺ, facing the Qibla if possible, raising the hands, having sincere hope and certainty that Allah hears and answers, and avoiding asking for anything sinful or for the severing of family ties. It's also encouraged to ensure one's food, income, and manner of living are lawful, as this is mentioned as something that helps a supplication be accepted. Persisting in Dua, even when an answer isn't immediately apparent, is itself an act of worship and trust in Allah.
